ESG's leadership in the industry has been responsible for numerous "firsts" including:
- ESG staff participated in the development and architecture of the Transaction Management Services system used to enroll the first competitively serviced electricity meter in the nation.
- ESG has been a pioneer in the development and utilization of competitive energy data exchange protocols. Working hand in hand with our client's operations, ESG was the first company to be certified in the states of Connecticut, Rhode Island, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois and Arizona by an energy company trading partner.
- ESG was the first and only EDI/Transaction Management Services vendor in production in 20 states across the US. ESG is the only back office systems vendor to support more than 50 utility jurisdictions. Currently ESG supports more than 100 service territories.
- ESG participated in the first testing and certification batch for the ERCOT competitive electricity market, representing more market participants than any other service provider in the country.
- ESG achieved EDI Transaction compliance for Keyspan Energy Delivery in New York prior to any other Utility.
- ESG was responsible for making Vectren the first Utility to be compliant with Ohio legislation.
- ESG was the first to achieve EDI production status for Berkshire Gas, a gas utility in Massachusetts.
- ESG's solutions have been developed through working relationships with over 200 energy market participants, more than any other company in this industry.
- ESG staff was the first to develop and coordinate testing and certification efforts on behalf of regulatory agencies in the states of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Texas, and Massachusetts.
- ESG people developed transaction sets for EDEWG in PA, thus significantly contributing to the development of the Pennsylvania Customer Choice program, one of the most successful in the country.
