Wholesale Energy Business Analyst

Energy Services Group, Inc. (ESG) provides e-Commerce data processing, billing, scheduling, and settlement services to participants in competitive energy markets.

ESG’s Wholesale Energy Services (WES) provides load profiling, forecasting, scheduling, settlement, cost allocation, and requisite regulatory reports. The service supports client electric operations in the ISONE, NYISO, PJM, MISO, ERCOT and beyond.

Selected individual will be primarily responsible for defining functional requirements, designing specifications in support of wholesale energy activities. This team-based position will work with other business analysts, project managers, and development team members to develop features and enhancements. Qualified candidates should exhibit strong analytical skills and identify critical issues with ease and deliver and communicate knowledge and information in an intuitive, informative, and well-organized manner.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop functional specifications and system design specifications.
Review and edit requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations.
Develop training end user training materials.
Identify and resolve problems in support of day-to-day operations.
Development of functional test plans
Lead testing efforts and ensure issues are identified, reported, and resolved
Actively participate in industry and market research, training and education
Define and implement effective operational process work flows and documentation to support ongoing business activities.
Define, implement, and monitor quality controls and risk mitigation strategies to ensure service excellence, regulatory compliance and SAS70 compliance for the ongoing product offering

Qualifications

Minimum 3-4 years experience as Business Analyst or System Analyst
Working knowledge and prior experience forecasting, scheduling, and settlement of deregulated electric energy
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related discipline.
Proficiency or aptitude to become proficient in the use of Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, SQL, and Microsoft Power Point
Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills
