Energy Services Group (ESG), a strategic source of managed e-commerce, clearinghouse and billing services for competitive natural gas and electricity markets announces an alliance with the Structure Group, an international software and consulting company providing integrated solutions for the deregulated energy industry.
The alliance leverages ESG's electronic transaction management systems with Structure's business consulting and software integration skills and will assist utilities and energy retailers entering competitive markets in the United States and Canada with a comprehensive business and IT solution for electronic data interchange and billing issues.
"The deregulated marketplace has made it necessary for utilities and retail providers to be able to facilitate transactions with the least amount of interpretation and interruption," Structure director Stacey Park said. "This alliance partners two companies whose strengths in system development, implementation and integration and overall energy industry knowledge complement each other."
Structure provides retail clients with consulting services centered on market operation including market readiness, market participation, strategy development, business process and integration of business and systems. Structure consultants have developed retail strategies and process models for the following: trading and risk management, asset bidding and portfolio management, forecasting and scheduling, load profiling, profitability analysis/pricing, customer care, registration, billing, remittance and metering. Structure has participated in wholesale deregulation at every major market operator and participant in North America.
"We are excited about this partnership and are confident that ESG's comprehensive solutions combined with Structure's extensive knowledge base and integration experience will offer enormous value to our clients," ESG vice president Drew Fenton said. "ESG and Structure share a common objective of delivering cost-effective, efficient solutions to energy companies."
"A working example of how our partnership will benefit clients is in the rollout of our new eTSP(TM) billing solution," Fenton said. "Our solutions, supported by Structure's integration and consulting services, fill a gap in the market for cost-effective and efficient implementations."
